The Boys’ Literacy Common Practice Model

In 2024, Educatalysts worked with literacy leaders from the following Boys’ Schools: Francis Douglas Memorial College, Rongotai College, Liston College, Hamilton Boys’ High School, St Bedes College, and Gisborne Boys’ High School to co-construct the Boys’ Literacy Common Practice Model. This ground-breaking work was based on practical solutions to help guide boys’ secondary schools to raise the mana of literacy for every young boy so that they would leave their boys’ school equipped with the literacy skills to thrive in their careers, community, and globally.

Following the launch of the BLCPM at the New Zealand Boys’ Schools Principal Conference in May 2025, a subscription-based cluster of 12 boys’ schools met to implement the BLCPM. This cluster was highly successful in implementing context-based solutions for raising the mana of literacy in each school. An Impact report was written highlighting three case studies.
